The territory of Val-des-Monts is located north of the greater Ottawa-Gatineau area. With a population of just over 11,000 inhabitants and an area of about 480 km2, this region is a jewel for resorts, ecotourism and the outdoors. The Val-des-Monts region includes the Perkins, St-Pierre de Wakefield and Poltimore sectors.
Approximately 125 lakes are located in the territory and are divided into two watersheds, the watershed of the Rivière Blanche Ouest and that of the Rivière du Lièvre.
The Rivière Blanche watershed covers an area of 301 km2 and is part of the watershed organization (OBV) of the 7-River Watershed Agency (ABV des 7).
The watershed area of the Lièvre River is located to the east of the territory and is part of the Lièvre River Watershed Committee (COBALI).
