The Territory and Watersheds

The territory of Val-des-Monts is located north of the greater Ottawa-Gatineau area. With a population of just over 11,000 inhabitants and an area of ​​about 480 km2, this region is a jewel for resorts, ecotourism and the outdoors. The Val-des-Monts region includes the Perkins, St-Pierre de Wakefield and Poltimore sectors.

Approximately 125 lakes are located in the territory and are divided into two watersheds, the watershed of the Rivière Blanche Ouest and that of ​​the Rivière du Lièvre.

The Rivière Blanche watershed covers an area of ​​301 km2 and is part of the watershed organization (OBV) of the 7-River Watershed Agency (ABV des 7).

The watershed area of ​​the Lièvre River is located to the east of the territory and is part of the Lièvre River Watershed Committee (COBALI).
